This Week in Nature 10/13/11

Hello Adventuring Families!

If you'd like details on any of these events, please join us on Meetup.com/FamilyAdventuresinNature and check out our calendar. There you will find all of these events plus more and be able to RSVP as well.

A good group of us are likely getting ready to go camping this weekend! Yay! It's not too late to join us if you're willing to 1) go at the last minute, and 2) camp a little farther from the group (welcome to join us at our site anytime)! The Pumpkin Express Train Ride to the Great Pumpkin Patch is sold out for both times, so if you didn't already reserve your seats, you'll have to try again another time.

And now onto the rest of this week's adventures:

FRIDAY, October 14th
9:30 am Indian Head Canyon with Encinitas Explorers
Camping at Lake Morena County Park

I'm immersed in things to do, but find myself getting more and more excited about our camping trip this weekend. We're headed to Lake Morena with our group and there are quite a few families going. We'll explore the lake, go on a ranger-led hike, enjoy a potluck meal together and s'mores for sure! The trip will end with a visit to the train museum in Campo and a ride to the Great Pumpkin Patch on the Pumpkin Express!

As I start to get ready, I wonder if it would be helpful to some people to have some sort of a "camping check list" to help prepare... If so, what would you add to the list?
